Vase Collection
Meet the Hagai Tesai Kabin
Elevate your living space with this handcrafted ceramic vase, meticulously crafted to embody the timeless beauty of wabi-sabi aesthetics.
This mini flower vase is made with a base of Karatsu clay and a carefully selected coating of Amakusa clay, finished with hand-painted underglaze and overglaze decoration.
The use of a coating clay is a traditional pottery technique developed in times when white clay was scarce, by artisans who longed to create white wares. The gentle form shaped on the potter's wheel and the contrast between the clays create a unique warmth.
The hand-painted designs have a different expression on each piece. From the materials and techniques to the painting, each piece is carefully crafted.

Ma (間): The Japanese Concept of Space Explained
If you’ve ever walked into a beautifully styled Japanese home or admired a simple ceramic tea bowl on a wooden shelf, you may have noticed something subtle but powerful: there’s space around it.
Not empty space in a forgotten sense—but intentional space.
That feeling comes from a uniquely Japanese idea called Ma (間). While it’s often translated as “space” or “gap,” Ma is really about the meaningful pause between things. It’s the quiet moment in music, the uncluttered corner of a room, or the breathing room that allows a beautiful object to stand out.
For anyone who appreciates Japanese craftsmanship, home décor, or thoughtful design, understanding Ma opens up a whole new way of looking at your space.
